Partnership for Miami will commit about $2 million to a program that aims to increase literacy rates at Miami-Dade County schools.
The nonprofit business advocacy group made the commitment to The Lucy Project’s Literacy Hub program. Over the next three years, the initiative will work to support 800 students from kindergarten through second grade in an effort to improve reading proficiency.
Justin de Leon, VP of education at Partnership for Miami, said investing in literacy and high-quality education is critical for the South Florida economy.
